Weren’t Seventh Generation diapers already chlorine free?

Seventh Generation has never used any chlorine-containing chemicals to whiten the absorbent material in our diapers. Manufacturers use various chemicals to bleach the absorbent fibers in disposable diapers. In most cases, chlorine-containing chemicals are used for this purpose. Although the chemicals we used had less of an environmental impact than the chlorine-containing alternatives, our research suggests that bleaching the fiber is not necessary in order to offer a premium-performing product.
